This agreement with the Binghamton University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences allows you to transfer into Binghamton's Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program after three years of undergraduate study. This is a 3+4 program that will allow qualified Elmira students to complete their bachelor of science degree in biochemistry through coursework taken in their first professional year at Binghamton.
You must have successfully completed the required prerequisite credits from Elmira College with a specified grade point average (GPA), and apply no later than Sept. 30 of your third year at Elmira. You must also carry a minimum cumulative and math/science GPA of 3.0. You must achieve a minimum composite score of 50 on the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) taken on or before the January test date. The PCAT will be waived if you achieve a GPA of 3.1 or higher.
For more information on this and other 3+4 pre-health program options, you can contact Lynn Gillie, Pre-Health Professions Advisor and Professor of Biology, at lgillie@shorinji-kempo.net.

Rather than taking four years to complete a bachelor's degree and another four years to complete the doctor of pharmacy degree, students will complete both programs in seven years. The pharmacy program will guarantee spaces each year for qualified Elmira College students.
